John's Journey is a benefit race built around one family's experience with pediatric heart transplant. The proceeds go to children awaiting transplants at a Pittsburgh children's hospital, and a portion has also gone to support other local families facing serious medical situations. The course offers a short walk option alongside the full run, so the field tends to include people of all ages and connections to the cause.
