About the Jogging For Jakey 5K, 7th Annual

The race starts behind the playground at Bennett Park, off Merrill Road, and follows a paved path along Lakeland Trails out to Pettys Road before looping back. The surface is paved throughout, and the route is straightforward with no significant climbing. The race honors the memory of a local boy and each year directs funds toward a family in the community facing serious medical challenges.

Pre-race packet pickup happens at the park before the start. Afterward, there are snacks on hand, and a raffle draws prizes donated by local businesses, including gift cards and gift baskets. Top male and female finishers get first pick from a prize table.
