About the Joel Barlow 5K Reindeer Run
The course runs on the Joel Barlow cross-country trails, so expect natural terrain rather than pavement. Cross-country ground tends to be uneven, with grass and dirt underfoot, and the kind of footing that rewards trail shoes over road flats. Festive attire is encouraged, which sets the tone for the morning.
Check-in opens before the start, and results are posted by hand after the race wraps up. Proceeds go toward the Joel Barlow student class hosting the event, so the entry fee goes directly to a student group rather than an outside organization.
