Smithfield, RI
This race is put on by a fraternity chapter at Bryant University and raises money for St. Jude Children's Hospital. Holiday costumes are encouraged, and the crowd skews toward students and families. The cause is front and center, which gives the morning a different kind of energy than most local races.
