About the Jingle Bell Jog 5k and Reindeer Glow Run

The course runs through a golf and country club decorated with Christmas lights, so you are passing displays the whole way. It goes off in the evening, after dark, and the organizer recommends bringing a headlamp or flashlight. The glow necklaces handed out at packet pickup help, but the course is genuinely dark in stretches.

Packet pickup runs in the hour or so before the start, on-site at the country club. Pre-registration online is required; there is no day-of signup at the venue. Teams are welcome if you want to race with a group, with the fastest members counting toward a combined result.

Common Questions About the Jingle Bell Jog 5k and Reindeer Glow Run

Will I finish last at the Jingle Bell Jog 5k and Reindeer Glow Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 33:13, and the last recorded finisher came in around 52:58, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Jingle Bell Jog 5k and Reindeer Glow Run a good first 5K?

It is a small race (121 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Jingle Bell Jog 5k and Reindeer Glow Run?

The 5K winner ran 16:47 while the median finisher took 33:13. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
