About the Jingle All the Way 5K and 1 mile walk
The course runs out and back along Main Street through rolling hills, with the Blue Ridge Mountains visible in the distance. It is a holiday-themed run, and many people show up in costume, Santa suits, antlers, elf gear, and shoes loaded with jingle bells are all normal sights on the course.
The race leads directly into the town's Parade of Lights, so the start area turns into a parade staging ground not long after the last runner finishes. Proceeds go toward the local summer celebration. The National Anthem is sung just before the start.
