About the Jessica Eubanks Burgin Memorial 5k Run
The course leaves the school district marquee on Grizzly Drive and heads into the DeKalb Industrial Park before turning onto a concrete road that runs to the back of the park. From there, the surface shifts to a dirt and grassy trail behind the city park, eventually bringing runners past the softball field and back to the finish. It is a route with real variety underfoot.
Parking is in the gym lot, and the start and finish are right out front on Grizzly Drive. Water is available at the start and finish and at the midpoint of the course. The race honors a DeKalb High School coach and the school district's first girls athletic director, and entry fees go directly to student athletes.
