The course winds through Washington Lake Park, a large municipal park with varied terrain that earns its description as challenging. The race starts and finishes near the park's amphitheater, so there is a natural gathering point before and after. A separate untimed walk uses the same general area, and the two events share the morning without feeling crowded around each other.

Parking is in the lot closest to the amphitheater, which makes the walk from car to start line short. In-person registration opens well before the gun, so arriving a bit early is enough time to get sorted.
