About the Jamaica Day Dash 2026
The course runs out and back along the West River Trail inside Jamaica State Park, starting from the day-use area. The trail follows the river through wooded state park land, so the surroundings are quiet and shaded. There is a shorter out-and-back option for younger kids alongside the main race, both leaving from the same spot.
The race is part of a broader Jamaica Day celebration, so the park fills out after the running is done. A parade, live music, food, and vendors carry on through the rest of the day, and most runners seem to stay for it. Spectators need a separate park pass to get in, which is worth knowing before the whole family drives out.
