About the JackFest 2026

JackFest is a youth cross country event held at Foxfield, with separate races for elementary and middle school kids. The course is grass throughout, mixing rolling hills with flatter stretches. Races are split by gender and school level, and results within each race are broken down by grade rather than by overall finish order.

School teams compete for a champion plaque alongside individual placers, so there is a team dimension worth knowing about if your child is affiliated with a school. Race-day registration opens before the first race goes off, so late arrivals are not locked out.

Common Questions About the JackFest 2026

Will I finish last at the JackFest 2026?

Almost certainly not. Half the 1 Miles field finished slower than 8:44, and the last recorded finisher came in around 24:54, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the JackFest 2026 a good first 1 Miles?

It is a small race (59 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the JackFest 2026?

The 1 Miles winner ran 6:19 while the median finisher took 8:44. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
