The race runs out of Stewart Park Pavilion, rain or shine, so weather is not a reason to stay home. The longer distance is chip-timed and draws people who want an actual result, while the Family Fun Mile runs separately and skews toward kids. Cookies and cocoa are at the finish, and Santa makes an appearance. Costume prizes go to the best-dressed.
