About the It's A Wonderful Run 5K

The race runs through Seneca Falls in the early evening, so you are out on the course after dark in winter. That gives it a different feel from a morning 5K. The town leans into the holiday theme, and the whole setup is oriented around drawing people into the downtown area rather than routing them away from it.

Packet pickup happens the evening before at the Seneca Falls Community Center, with a second window on race afternoon before the start. The start and finish are based out of the Seneca Falls Recreation and Park facility, so everything is in one part of town and easy to navigate.

Common Questions About the It's A Wonderful Run 5K

Will I finish last at the It's A Wonderful Run 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 48:31, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:58:24, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the It's A Wonderful Run 5K a good first 5K?

With 4,408 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the It's A Wonderful Run 5K?

The 5K winner ran 14:53 while the median finisher took 48:31. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
