About the It's A Wonderful 5K

The course runs around the lake at Blue Spruce Park, so you get water on one side for most of the route. The park setting keeps things quiet and open, and the loop shape means spectators can find a spot and see runners more than once. Expect cold air, especially once the sun starts dropping.

Packet pickup is at the park before the race starts, so you can arrive, get your bib, and stay put. The park has free parking. The timing is early evening, which in late fall means you may want an extra layer at the start line.
