About the Isle of Palms Connector Run and Walk for the Child
The course starts on the island, crosses the Connector bridge into Mount Pleasant, and comes back. That bridge is the whole reason to run this one. You are up above the marsh and the Intracoastal Waterway with open water on both sides, and on a clear morning the Atlantic is visible too. The road surface is straightforward; the views are not.
After the finish there is a post-race festival with live music, a kids' area, local vendors, and free beer for those of age. The race benefits organizations focused on child abuse prevention in the Charleston area, and that mission has been at the center of it since the beginning.
