About the Islamorada Half Marathon & 10k, Rumrunner Run 5K/10K and Beach N' Beer Mile

The races are based at a marina on the Overseas Highway, so the water is right there from the start. The weekend covers road distances from a beer mile up through a half marathon, all on the flat island terrain the Keys are known for. The surroundings are classic Florida Keys, with open sky and water visible along much of the route.

Packet pickup happens the evening before the first race day at the marina, with free rum samples on hand. A second pickup window runs the following morning. That evening, a party at a local brewery down the road includes live music, food, and a raffle.

Will I finish last at the Islamorada Half Marathon & 10k, Rumrunner Run 5K/10K and Beach N' Beer Mile?

Almost certainly not. Half the 12.4 Miles field finished slower than 2:01:32, and the last recorded finisher came in around 3:30:09, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Islamorada Half Marathon & 10k, Rumrunner Run 5K/10K and Beach N' Beer Mile a good first 12.4 Miles?

A field of 288 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 12.4 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Islamorada Half Marathon & 10k, Rumrunner Run 5K/10K and Beach N' Beer Mile?
