About the Isaiah 40:31 Run

The road course launches from a school parking area and follows Erwin Chapel Road out to a stop sign, then returns the same way. No hills, no turns to think about. A shorter option stays entirely on campus, weaving through the school grounds with several changes of direction.

The morning opens with a ceremonial gathering on the soccer field before racing begins. Registration is in the cafeteria, right beside the start and finish. Children's activities run through the late morning, so families tend to stay a while after their runners finish.

Common Questions About the Isaiah 40:31 Run

Will I finish last at the Isaiah 40:31 Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 39:30, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:32:44, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Isaiah 40:31 Run a good first 5K?

It is a small race (76 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Isaiah 40:31 Run?

The 5K winner ran 18:56 while the median finisher took 39:30. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
