About the Irmo Okra Strut 5k
The course is flat and certified, routed through the streets of Irmo and timed with chips. It finishes at the Okra Strut parade, so the race drops you directly into the festival. Age group awards go deep, and there is a best team spirit category, which suggests people show up dressed for it.
Post-race, the parade and festival activities are right there at the finish. Refreshments are set up at the line, and the crowd at that point is the festival crowd, not just runners.
