About the Indio Veterans Day 5K & 10K Run/Walk
The course runs through the Empire Polo grounds in Indio, a wide open stretch of turf and paths that keeps things flat and easy to navigate. The race honors veterans, and the morning opens with a ceremony and music before anyone heads to the start line. A portion of entry fees goes to the Hunter Lopez Memorial Foundation.
There is a pre-race spread with refreshments, so arriving a little early is worth it. The atmosphere leans toward the ceremonial side, with the tribute to veterans shaping the mood of the whole morning more than the racing itself does.
