About the Inaugural Manatee River Turkey Trot Bridge Run
The course crosses the De Soto Bridge over the Manatee River, which is closed to traffic for the race. That kind of closure does not happen here, and running a bridge over open water on a Thanksgiving morning has a different feel than a typical park loop. The route connects Palmetto and Bradenton, so you are literally running from one side of the river to the other.
Post-race, the Palmetto Marriott Resort and Spa hosts treats and drinks at the finish. Packet pickup and other logistics were not detailed in advance, so checking back closer to race day is worth doing for a first-year event.
