About the IM ABLE Foundation's Ruck & Roll
Ruck & Roll is built around rucking, which means hiking with a weighted pack, a training staple borrowed from military culture. Participants choose how much weight to carry, or none at all, and competitive divisions set specific pack weights alongside challenge stations on the course. Adaptive athletes roll the course on handcycles or recumbents, with terrain described as challenging, so checking the course map ahead of time is worth doing.
The post-race atmosphere leans into fall: there is a campfire, s'mores, fall crafts, and a scavenger hunt through something called the Squirrel Trail. A chili competition pits restaurants against home cooks, and registered participants get a bowl plus tasting tickets. Packet registration offers discounts for veterans and adaptive athletes.
