About the Illinois Homecoming Run
The route runs point-to-point, starting on Anniversary Plaza at the south edge of the Illini Union and heading toward the Alice Campbell Alumni Center at the finish. You pass along the Quad on your way out, which makes the surroundings feel distinctly campus-oriented rather than street-level urban. The course is short enough that most people treat it as a morning outing tied to something bigger.
Bibs are picked up on race day, but there is early pickup at the Alumni Center in the days before the race, which helps thin out the check-in lines on race morning. Free parking is available both near the start at a performing arts center and at the finish itself. The post-race gathering at the Alumni Center includes food, drinks, and the Marching Illini.
