About the I Ran the D 5K
The course moves through downtown Detroit, starting outside Comerica Park, winding through Brush Park and past Ford Field, then returning to the ballpark for a lap around the outfield wall. The streets are historic and dense with sports landmarks, so the surroundings do most of the talking. Wave starts keep the course from bottlenecking.
Packet pickup runs at a couple of local running stores the days before the race, plus a cafe in Detroit the day before. Race-morning pickup is available at Comerica Park for an added fee, but the organizers are direct that lines get long and you risk missing the start. Parking lots near the ballpark can be pre-purchased ahead of time.
