The course runs through Fountain Valley Sports Park and into Mile Square Regional Park, so there is a real sense of moving through open space rather than looping a parking lot. The color run option means parts of the course get messy in the best way, with color stations along the route. Both options share the same general path, so the terrain is park-flat throughout.

Bib pickup happens the evening before at the sports park, with live music, inflatables, and food for purchase, making it worth showing up early rather than waiting for race morning. If you skip the pre-race pickup, bibs are also available at the expo when the event opens race morning, though it tends to get crowded closer to the start.
