About the Huntsville Runfest
The trail distances here run through McMullen Cove on single-track that traces old logging roads and paths worn by Native American communities centuries ago. The terrain is punchy, with steep technical climbs and fast descents, mostly shaded by dense forest. Runners pass bent "Indian Trees" used as trail markers, a waterfall hollow, an old hunting cabin, and a hilltop overlook with views in three directions.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at Fleet Feet Huntsville, with a second window on race morning at McMullen Cove before the first wave heads out. The start area is at the McMullen Cove Clubhouse. Proceeds from the event benefit childhood cancer research.
