About the Hula Loop 6-Hour Sunday Series

The Hula Loop is a timed six-hour event where you run as many laps as you want on a mostly flat course, and the runner with the most distance at the end wins. The organizers pick courses that drain well, have some shade, and sit near real restrooms. Expect a tropical theme running through everything, including the aid station, which goes a bit beyond the basics.

Common Questions About the Hula Loop 6-Hour Sunday Series

Will I finish last at the Hula Loop 6-Hour Sunday Series?

Almost certainly not. Half the 21K field finished slower than 3:48:52, and the last recorded finisher came in around 5:58:47, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Hula Loop 6-Hour Sunday Series a good first 21K?

It is a small race (24 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 21K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Hula Loop 6-Hour Sunday Series?

The 21K winner ran 1:16:26 while the median finisher took 3:48:52. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
