About the Hueston Woods Trail Race
The course runs through Hueston Woods State Park on a mix of single-track trail, pavement, and grass, with the terrain shifting underfoot throughout. The park sits on ancient limestone and shale bedrock, and exposed fossils along the route are common enough that you will notice them if you look down between the roots. Longer distances earn more elevation, and the half marathon loops the course twice, so the hills accumulate.
All distances share the same start and finish at a picnic area inside the park, and check-in opens in the window before a pre-race meeting where the director walks everyone through course markings. Aid station support is on the course.
