About the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway 10K Race & 2K Run/Walk

The course runs point-to-point along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, finishing at a ferry terminal in Weehawken. It is entirely flat on paved path, and the Manhattan skyline sits across the water for most of the route. The shorter option stays close to the start area at Veterans' Field, where you also get views of the George Washington Bridge.

Parking is free at Veterans' Field in Edgewater. Runners coming from Manhattan can take the NY Waterways Ferry across the river, and there is also a bus connection from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. After the finish in Weehawken, ferries and buses bring everyone back to Edgewater for the awards ceremony.

Common Questions About the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway 10K Race & 2K Run/Walk

Will I finish last at the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway 10K Race & 2K Run/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 10K field finished slower than 1:08:17, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:55:52, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway 10K Race & 2K Run/Walk a good first 10K?

A field of 462 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 10K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway 10K Race & 2K Run/Walk?

The 10K winner ran 33:52 while the median finisher took 1:08:17. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
