About the HOWLOWEEN 5K & 1-MILE DOG WALK

The course starts and finishes near the park pavilion, then heads out of Parkside Place Park into the surrounding neighborhood streets before looping back. It is a road race on pavement and street shoulders, with no significant climbing to speak of. Dogs are welcome throughout the morning, and many people run or walk in costume, which makes the atmosphere pretty hard to take too seriously.

The event spills well beyond the race itself. A fall fair runs alongside it with food trucks and vendors, there is a dog agility course, costume contests, and a raffle that stays open into the early afternoon. Packet pickup happens the evening before at the park if you want to avoid the morning rush.
