About the Houdini 10k
The course starts at Houdini Plaza, a nod to Appleton's most famous former resident, and winds through the Newberry Trail and past the Appleton Locks before finishing in Jones Park. The surroundings are riverside and wooded, with the feel of a fall morning run through a city that wears its history lightly. Strollers are permitted.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at Jones Park, with a shorter window on race morning at the same shelter that serves as the finish-area hub. Jones Park itself is closed to parking on race day, so plan to use one of the downtown parking options nearby. A local brewery pours beer at the finish, and magicians work the crowd before and after the race.
