About the Horsetooth Half Marathon
The course runs point to point from the old stadium grounds on the west side of Fort Collins down to New Belgium Brewery. The middle stretch along Horsetooth Reservoir is where the race earns its reputation: rolling, exposed hills above the water that will test your legs. After that, the route drops onto a river recreation trail and the last stretch is genuinely downhill.
The finish is at a brewery, so there is a real post-race scene waiting. The start area is at the site of the former CSU football stadium, which gives you a clear landmark to aim for on race morning.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2026 results, this is a big field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Horsetooth Half Marathon has been held every year since at least 2015. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
