About the Hornet Holiday Hustle
The course starts and finishes at Clark Park, heading out along a trail toward Mount Sterling Lake and back. It is a there-and-back route, so you get a good look at the lake before turning around. The surroundings are open enough that you notice the cold air, and the pace of the field tends toward a neighborhood run rather than a race-day grind.
The event is organized in partnership with the local park district, and proceeds support student athletics at the high school level. A shorter kids course loops around Clark Park separately, giving younger runners their own moment. The start area is Clark Park itself.
