About the Honoring our Heroes Marathon
The course runs through hilly, rural country on roads that are almost entirely paved. The organizers are upfront that it is not flat, and the rolling terrain reflects the landscape around Rolla. The race benefits local veterans' causes, and a ruck division runs alongside the standard distances, with packs weighed at the finish.
Packet pickup the evening before is held at Lions Club Park, and the same location opens again race morning. The organizers describe the post-race gathering as a highlight, and there is a pasta party at pickup the night before.
