About the Holiday of Lights 5k Challenge
The course runs through a holiday lights display inside the city, looping the same stretch of illuminated scenery several times. There is no dark stretch of trail to navigate here; the lights are the backdrop for the whole race, not just the start and finish.
Runners show up in costume as much as in racing gear. Age group awards go to the top finishers on both the men's and women's sides, so there is a competitive layer if you want it, but the atmosphere leans toward the occasion.
