About the 9th Annual Historic Hillsborough Half Marathon and 5K

The course winds through the historic core of Hillsborough, past an old courthouse, a historic school, a cemetery, and the site of an Occoneechee Indian village. Both distance options include a lap of the old Occoneechee Speedway, a dirt oval that predates nearly every other NASCAR track still standing. The route also covers Churton Street and the River Walk, which runs along the Mountains to Sea trail.

Packet pickup is available at a running store in Durham before race weekend, then at the Farmers Market Pavilion in Hillsborough the day before, with race-morning pickup also offered. Parking information is sent by email during the week before the race, with options near Weaver Street Market and at a local elementary school.
