About the Hippo Dash 5K
The course runs through a paved park in Hutto, crossing bridges along the way. It is flat throughout, with a marked route that keeps navigation simple. A kids race goes off first, then the adults follow, so the start area has a loose, family-morning energy before the main wave heads out.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a Fleet Feet location, with race-morning pickup available at Creekside Park before the start. The post-race scene stays active well after the course closes, with a dance party and activities in the finish area. The race also collects non-perishable dessert donations for a local food pantry.
