About the Hero Hustle 5K

The course winds through the neighborhoods surrounding the start area, so you get a feel for the surrounding streets rather than looping a park or track. The terrain is flat, with residential streets throughout. Chip timing is used, and age group awards go deep into the field.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the same address where the race starts, with race-morning pickup available as well. Parking is in the industrial area behind the building, off Springview Commerce Drive. After the race, there are water slides, a bounce house, a DJ, and snacks on site.

Common Questions About the Hero Hustle 5K

Will I finish last at the Hero Hustle 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 40:40, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:46, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Hero Hustle 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 522 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Hero Hustle 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 16:50 while the median finisher took 40:40. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
