About the Hero Half Marathon
The Hero Half Marathon starts and finishes at a mall, near a department store anchor on the edge of the parking area. The race is a fundraiser run by a local foundation in partnership with the city's firefighters union, and one of the more unusual options on offer is a firefighter challenge where participants run the half marathon course in full bunker gear.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a physical therapy office across town, with a brief race-morning window at the start area that closes sharply before the gun. Both options are worth knowing about before you plan your morning.
