About the HEADLESS HORSEMAN FUN RUN & 5K
The 5K winds through Baker Park and into the surrounding neighborhoods, while the shorter fun run stays entirely within the park, starting and finishing at the bandshell. Costumes are part of the deal, and there are contest categories for everything from scariest to best Headless Horseman. Expect candy at this one.
Packet pickup happens the afternoon before the race in front of Frederick High School, with race-morning pickup also available. The event collects gently used running shoes for a local youth nonprofit that supports student athletes, so it is worth digging an old pair out before you head over.
