About the Head For The Hills
The course runs out and back along Chagrin River Road through the Chagrin River valley, with gently rolling terrain and homes set among early fall foliage. The hike takes a different path entirely, winding through Forest Ridge Preserve over hills, ravines, and stream crossings on wooded trails. Both routes start and finish at the Lang Pavilion, which sits at the center of the event.
Packet pickup the evening before is at a Fleet Feet location in Pepper Pike, with registration and bib pickup also available race morning. A food truck serves mini donuts, coffee, hot chocolate, and lemonade. NovaCare Rehabilitation has staff on site for warm-ups, taping, and post-race recovery. Age group and overall awards go to the top finishers in the run.

The Head For The Hills has been held every year since at least 2021. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
