About the Harvest to Horizon Running Festival

The half marathon and shorter race both pass along a runway, which gives the course an open, wide-sky feel unusual for a road race. The half marathon extends out to Bay Point, where the water comes into view before you turn back. There is ice cream from a local shop waiting at the finish, and the proceeds go toward a local memorial fund.

Aid stations are spaced out along the course with water, electrolytes, and snacks. Port-a-pots are placed along the route as well. The event is put on by a local running club, and that shows in the details.

Common Questions About the Harvest to Horizon Running Festival

Will I finish last at the Harvest to Horizon Running Festival?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:10:16, and the last recorded finisher came in around 2:57:32, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Harvest to Horizon Running Festival a good first 13.1 Miles?

It is a small race (41 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Harvest to Horizon Running Festival?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:33:08 while the median finisher took 2:10:16. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
