About the Happy Steps 5K
The course runs along the beach on Sullivan's Island, which means sand underfoot and open water views. It is the kind of surface that slows you down a little, so most people settle into whatever pace feels right. The race benefits Camp Happy Days, a nonprofit that supports children affected by cancer, and that purpose shapes the mood of the morning.
After the race, the party moves to The Island Club, where there is food, drinks, music, and games. Fundraising is woven into the event: participants can set up a personal page and compete for prizes as top individual or team fundraiser.
