About the Halloween Hustle

The course runs through downtown Conway, finishing along the Riverwalk. The city decorates its streets heavily for the season and leans into it more than most towns do, and the race fits right into that. Several distance options let you pick your effort, and there is also a challenge for those who want to run more than one of them back to back.

Carolina BBQ, mac and cheese, and toasted bread are waiting at the finish, along with a beer garden. The Riverwalk finish area gives the post-race crowd somewhere to spread out and stay a while.

Common Questions About the Halloween Hustle

Will I finish last at the Halloween Hustle?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 39:21, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:38, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Halloween Hustle a good first 3.1 Miles?

With 815 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Halloween Hustle?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 16:41 while the median finisher took 39:21. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
