About the Halloween Hustle 5k - Cystic Fibrosis Fun Run
This one raises money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the costume element is taken seriously. Runners and walkers both show up, which gives the start line a different energy than a typical road race. The course is a standard road distance, and the pace is unhurried enough that a good costume is not a liability.
Post-race, there is pizza and a raffle, so most people hang around after finishing. The prizes for costumes give the whole morning a reason to stick together rather than head to the parking lot.
