About the HALLOWEEN HUSTLE 5K
The course runs through Lake St. Clair Metropark, starting and finishing right outside the Thomas Welch Activity Center. The park setting gives you open paths near the water, and the Halloween timing means most people show up in costume, which makes the whole thing feel more like a neighborhood party than a plain morning race.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local running shop in Utica, which keeps the start-area lines short. On race morning, the activity center itself is open, so there is a warm indoor space to gather before the start. A costume contest runs before the gun, with a photo booth and announced winners.
