About the Haunted Grove 5k/ kids 2k / Virtual 5k
This one runs at night through Crooked Lake Prairie Park, which changes the feel of a 5k considerably. Costumes are encouraged, and awards go to the best ones. The course has a Halloween theme to it, and the event raises money for a local program supporting children without stable housing.
Cookies, snacks, and Halloween-themed food are out at the finish. The race is put on by a small local outfit that runs several events through the year, so the setup is personal and the crowd knows each other.
