About the Hainesport Endurance Run

The course is a paved loop at Hainesport Township Park, run counter-clockwise on flat ground. Depending on conditions, a slightly longer alternate loop may be used instead, but the surface stays paved either way. This is a timed endurance format, so runners accumulate distance over hours rather than racing a fixed point-to-point route.

Each participant can set up a personal area near the start and finish, with room for chairs, tables, and tents. Electricity is available at the venue, and heated restrooms with running water sit on the course itself. The aid station is stocked with hot food throughout, including quesadillas, pancakes, and egg burritos, alongside the usual drinks. No pacers are allowed under any circumstances.

Common Questions About the Hainesport Endurance Run

Will I finish last at the Hainesport Endurance Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the race field finished slower than 11:21:33, and the last recorded finisher came in around 11:59:45, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Hainesport Endurance Run a good first race?

It is a small race (57 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first race, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Hainesport Endurance Run?

The race winner ran 3:17:57 while the median finisher took 11:21:33. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
