About the Habitat Hustle 5K Run/Walk
The course runs along the Hawthorne Trail, a paved rail trail that cuts through a stretch of natural Gainesville scenery. It starts and finishes at Boulware Springs Park, so the surroundings feel more wooded and open than a typical road race. The pace of the field tends to be wide-ranging, and the trail surface keeps things smooth underfoot.
Parking is free at the park, with overflow space next door if the main lot fills. Plan to arrive well before the start for check-in. Post-race, there are treats at the finish area and raffle prizes drawn from local businesses. Separate awards go to the top male and female finishers.
