About the 23rd Annual Groom Creek Classic: 1/2 Marathon, 10k, 5k
The course runs through a Ponderosa Pine forest south of Prescott, with the shorter distance staying on pavement through rolling hills. The longer distances leave the pavement and follow wide dirt forest roads through the trees before returning to the finish. The terrain is genuinely hilly and the elevation keeps things cool even when the calendar says summer.
The race runs cupless on course, so you will need to carry your own hydration. Water stations are set up throughout so you can refill along the way, and cups are available at the start and finish area.
