About the Great Turkey Chase 5K
The course loops through the streets of Elizabethtown, starting and finishing at a church on East High Street. It runs on Thanksgiving morning, so the field tends to be families treating it as part of the holiday rather than a tune-up race. Costumes are common enough that there is an actual contest for them, judged on creativity and holiday spirit.
Parking at the church lot is limited, and a section of it is blocked off for a kids run, so most people use overflow spots at nearby schools, the fairgrounds, or street parking. A family gathering contest runs alongside the race, with an entry table set up in the registration area at the church.
