About the GREAT SOUTH BAY RUN
The courses start and finish at a marina park, with the longer routes winding through the historic downtown area and past residential neighborhoods near lakes, canals, and waterways. The finish line opens up to an unobstructed view across the water toward Fire Island, which makes for a strong ending regardless of how the rest of the run went.
Packet pickup runs the evening before the race at the marina park, with race-morning pickup available at the same spot. Parking for race day is in the boat launch and beach car parks nearby, but it closes before the last wave goes off, so arriving early matters.
